One of the things we pride ourselves on as listing agents is providing valuable feedback to our sellers after their homes have been shown. We have to rely on the buyer agents for that and are always appreciative when they give it to us. We make it a point to reciprocate with feedback when our buyer agents show their homes as well.
Good agents will always give us feedback, whether it's positive or negative, but the not-so-good agents won't respond to auto-generated emails. When that happens, we'll always go the extra mile and make every effort to personally contact the agent for their opinions on the home. However, something new is on the horizon that might make buyer agent feedback even more challenging to obtain.
Below is an excellent quick video by another agent regarding a lawsuit that recently happened in California. I understand the buyers won their lawsuit against their buyer agent.
Any listing agent will tell you it's vital to receive feedback from other agents after a showing whether it's positive or negative. It's helpful to hear whether they believe the home is priced right but we need more than that.
It's always nice to share positive feedback with our sellers, but it's just as important to share any less-than-positive feedback. We might be able to do something about a recurring buyer objection but we have to know about it first.
I read some agent comments where this video was posted on TicTok and unfortunately, some have already said, "That's it for me, no more feedback." If that becomes a prevalent attitude it's not good for our industry.
