Thank you Angie Ernst Johnson for sending this video and description to me........ The Heritage Ranch Pickleball Club hosted the Inaugural First Responders Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 13th. The idea came from Sharon Sehon, my mom, who lives in Heritage Ranch. She has a love for pickleball and firemen, since her father had been a battalion chief with the Dallas Fire Department. She had the idea to bring these two things together. She partnered with the Friends of Fairview First Responders Association and the idea grew into a big event. The day started with a pickleball tournament pairing Heritage Ranch residents with first responders from the Fairview police department, fire department and EMS. Following the pickleball tournament there was a silent and live auction, raffle and banquet dinner. We are still awaiting the final number, but the low estimate for the total amount raised is $44,000. The money raised from the event will be used to fund the advanced health screening for firefighters and police. Thank You Liz Sekerke for the video and we all applaud the generosity of the Heritage Ranch residents in their support of our amazing first responders.
