If you've lived in Lucas for a while, you already know about this traffic choke point at the intersection of Southview and E Lucas Rd. This is a nightmare for travelers coming from Allen up Bethany from Central Expressway, especially in the afternoon when people are driving home from work. This is only going to get worse as Princeton continues to explode in growth. It's currently the third fastest-growing city in the country, and much of that traffic will be coming across Lake Lavon to this point. Check out this video and you can see why Princeton is bringing in so many people. It's all a matter of zoning, affordable housing, and public sewer.
It will be interesting to see if this work at the Lucas Food Store will alleviate all the problems, but even more traffic is coming. Princeton has put a 180-day restriction on new permits because it doesn't have the infrastructure to handle it right now. North Princeton isn't an issue because Hwy 380 is large enough to handle the traffic, but the traffic coming across Lake Lavon in south Princeton is another issue. We'll see how this all plays out.
