The massive tree you see towering above all others was located on the far east end of Blondy Jhune Rd. Who knows how old it was, but someone once told me it was one of the largest in the entire area. Unfortunately, it was right next to an old bridge that had to be widened.
I remember years ago the landowner fighting with the city, trying her best to save the tree from all the digging when the bridge was being built. I don't know when the tree came down. Hopefully, it died of natural causes, not the disruption to its root system but my instincts tell me it was the latter.
It's gone forever now and seeing that stump is just a constant reminder to me of what was once there. I wish the town would get it out of there.
