When I moved over from commercial real estate to residential many years ago, one of the very first things I realized was the MLS provided sales statistics on all of their agent members. We never had anything like that in commercial, and to this day, we still don't. The second thing I learned about residential is there were many agents stating they were the top agents in different areas. The general public had no way of knowing if that was true or not because they don't have access to that information on the MLS.
The first time I finished #1 in my area of concentration, Fairview, Lucas, and Parker, I posted the printout right from the MLS and I've been doing it every year since then. In mid-July, I'm #1 in FLP with over two and half times more sales volume than the second place agent. If this holds up, it will be my 25th consecutive year to finish in the #1 spot.
I have included another MLS report too. Among the 10,000 or so active agents with active licenses in all of Collin County, I'm #3 in home sales over $1 million over the past year.
