If you live in the Lucas, Tx area, you've no doubt seen the major development on the corner of Country Club and Blondy Jhune. But that isn't the only thing happening on that street. This home is at the opposite end of Blondy Jhune Rd almost where it dead-ends into Winningkoff.
I've called this a mystery home because until fairly recently, I couldn't tell what it was going to be. The structure is in a long, linear shape and there's a lot of steel in the construction. Before the roof framing was added, I really thought it was being built for exotic car storage. There's already a smaller home on the property so I thought the owner would be living there.
Curiosity finally got the best of me, so I knocked on the door and met the owner. He couldn't have been nicer and explained what he was doing. He told me it was fine to share these pictures, and hopefully he'll let me do a reshoot later in the year as the finishout starts coming in.
The owner told me his new home is going to be a 12,000 SF single story. It stretches along a creek so every room will have private views. An indoor pool will be built on the far left side of the home. There are also two nice-sized out-buildings. The entrance will be in the center of the home with a wing on each side. There is so much to see on this property I couldn't get it all into the frame so I took a couple of quick videos.
I met one of his subs on the property and he told me the steel is from China and a heavier grade than he normally sees. It's not the same dimensions he's used to working with so they have to do quite a bit of conversions. The home will have a metal roof, of course, and I'm really looking forward to watching it all come together it go on.
