Fairview's Holiday Parade Loops Right Through Town Center, and Neighbors Can Join It

Fairview Town Hall's address is 372 Town Place, on Fairview Town Center's main promenade. On Saturday, December 5, the Town's Grand Parade will leave from beside that building, loop through Fairview Town Center and come back to the same door for the lighting of the Town Christmas tree.

Fairview's civic front door and its retail district share one promenade. So the whole afternoon fits on one walkable loop: performances, Santa, the parade, the tree and dinner.

Town Hall's Front Door Opens Onto Town Place

The Town of Fairview's event page gives the route turn by turn:

  1. The parade lines up on Watertower Way, just west of Fairview Town Hall, and steps off at 5 p.m.
  2. It heads west on Town Place for about 1,000 feet.
  3. It turns north and loops past the Fairview Town Center fountain.
  4. It comes back to Town Place and heads east to Town Hall for the tree lighting.

The Town says the full route is about three-quarters of a mile and runs about 45 minutes, depending on how many entries sign up. The Town calls Town Place "Fairview Town Center's main promenade." The event is a joint production. In the November 2026 Fairview Town News, Mayor John Hubbard says the Town is partnering "again" with Fairview Town Center for the celebration.

This Year's Schedule Ends Before Dinner

The calendar has moved. Last year the Town Center listed Fairview Lights Up the Holidays on Saturday, November 29, 2025, running from 5:45 to 9 p.m. The 2026 event is a week later in the season and starts in the afternoon. The Town expects it to wrap up around 6:30 p.m.

Time Where What happens
3 p.m. Fairview Town Center Park and Stage Performances, a sing-along, gourmet churros, hot chocolate, Santa and Mrs. Claus, the "ReinSteer" and a horse-drawn carriage for photos
5 p.m. Watertower Way, near Town Hall The Grand Parade steps off, led by the ReinSteer
About 5:45 p.m. Town Hall Parade ends
6 p.m. Town Hall The Town Christmas tree is lit
Right after Town Hall Holiday songs from select members of the Vocal Majority
About 6:30 p.m. Town Hall Event ends

The theme is "western flair," and the Town's FAQ explains the main attraction. A ReinSteer is "a longhorn that has caught the Christmas spirit and dresses in festive holiday finery." Supervised, well-behaved youngsters may sit on one for a photo. The horse-drawn carriage is for photos only. Guests can climb in for a picture, but it doesn't give rides. Santa and Mrs. Claus will walk through the crowd instead of holding court in one spot, and the Town says anyone is welcome to pose with them.

Admission is free. The Town notes that some refreshments may cost money.

Where to Stand Along the Loop

The route doubles back on itself, so a spot on Town Place gets the parade twice: once heading west and again on the way back to Town Hall. The Town suggests standing north or south of Town Place or near the fountain. If your group wants to see the tree lit at 6 p.m., the east end of Town Place near Town Hall keeps you close to the finish.

Parade entrants may "gently toss candy," and the Town asks children not to run in front of parade vehicles to grab it. Families with small children will want a spot back from the curb.

The Parade Is Open to Neighbors

The parade is the part residents can join. The Town is taking applications from residents, clubs and businesses, and entering is free. The Mayor put it plainly in his November letter:

"Gather your neighbors, invite your friends and help make this a celebration that reflects our community. The more the merrier!"

The Town's rules for entries:

  • Every entry needs an application. Submit the 2026 parade application ahead of time.
  • No motor is required. You can walk, or ride a bicycle, tricycle or unicycle.
  • Golf carts must be trailered in. They are allowed in the parade, but they have to arrive at Fairview Town Center on a trailer and can't be driven on Town streets.
  • Decorations are optional. The Town's FAQ says decorated entries "draw more cheers from the crowd."
  • Businesses and clubs can show their name. Fairview businesses and clubs may put a small sign or banner on their parade vehicle.
  • There are no prizes. Entries may appear in a future issue of Fairview Town News, possibly on the cover.

The Town hasn't posted a deadline, so a street that wants to walk together should apply now rather than in early December.

The finale has the same hometown feel. The Town lists the performers as VMX, a group of select members of the Vocal Majority. The Vocal Majority is a Dallas-based a cappella men's chorus that has won 14 Barbershop Harmony Society International Gold Medals. The Mayor wrote that he is "especially looking forward to joining VMX for this performance."

After 6:30, Dinner Is on the Same Loop

The Town's own FAQ ends the evening by suggesting dinner "at one of the many fine eateries in Fairview Town Center." The restaurants line the same streets the parade just used.

On Town Place, the parade's main stretch. The Town Center's dining directory lists Revolving Kitchen at 146 Town Place, K-Cup Korean at 232, G.O.A.T.'s Arena Sports Bar at 235, Tap Street at 239 and The Bar at iPic at 321. Revolving Kitchen is a food hall with a bar. Diners scan a QR code at the table and can order from any or all of the menus on a single check, which helps a group that can't agree on dinner. It stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The May 2026 Fairview Town News said the lineup "continue[s] to evolve." It named offerings including BuBu Chili, Kekou Sushi, Hanoi Fresh, CoCo Grab and Go, Fry Buns, the Fried Rice Bar, Handcrafted.Taco, Sweet Tooth Society and Chicken Butt Jerky.

K-Cup is a Revolving Kitchen graduate. The same May 2026 issue reported that K-Cup Kitchen, known for its Korean dumplings, moved from the food hall into its own restaurant at 232 Town Place. Also on Town Place, Tick Tock Taco opened at 201 Town Place. It serves tacos alongside the churros made famous at Churro On Top in Arlington. Local Profile reported in March 2026 that the space is a two-story Tick Tock Taco x Churro On Top concept.

Around the fountain, where the parade loops north. The directory lists AKa Hibachi & Sushi at 135 Fountain Court, Cream & Sugar at 144, Gloria's Latin Cuisine at 152 and Churro On Top at 172. Nonnino Italian at 148 Fountain Court is listed as "Opening Soon."

Along Stacy Road, at the edge of the center. BoomerJack's Grill & Bar is at 131 Stacy Road, Neon Cactus at 241 and Swig at 371, with Chicken Salad Chick at 102 Prairie Road. Roadrunner Coffee Co. at 351 Stacy Road is also listed as "Opening Soon."

Stacy Road also has the center's newest big store. The Fairview Economic Development Corporation reported that Academy Sports + Outdoors held its grand opening on Friday, October 23, at 201 Stacy Road, in the space Macy's used to fill. Mayor Hubbard made the store's first purchase.

Town Hall will be closed November 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving. It reopens in plenty of time for the tree lighting on December 5.

We'll see you along Town Place on December 5. If you're getting ready to sell a Fairview home this winter, The Grisak Group will show off what's within reach of your front door, from the Town Center loop to the parade route, in photography and video made with care. List With Us.
