Lucas, Texas, has somehow become one of the wealthier towns in the entire state, and it happened right under my nose. I think I got so used to seeing and selling these $2 million plus homes, I didn't put it all together, but that's the reputation it's gotten. Fairview, its sister town right next door, has already been rolled over by the north Dallas sprawl, and there are really no more big developable tracts of land. That's because it's right on Central Expressway (Hwy 75) and has all the visibility. But Lucas, only a mile or so to the east, has escaped it so far and still has lots of open land to enjoy.
This tract, in my opinion, is the prettiest in the town. It isn't for sale, and, selfishly, I hope it never does. But reality is, it will be developed some day and will make a gorgeous development. Until then, those of us who live in Lucas will be able to enjoy driving by.
