Tom was born in Fort Worth and proud to call himself a native Texan. He grew up in Richardson and graduated from Richardson High School in 1972. He attended the University of Arkansas on a tennis scholarship playing in the #2 position in both singles and doubles during his senior year in 1976.
Tom graduated from the U of A with a degree in education and immediately began coaching tennis at Texas High School in Texarkana. He returned to Dallas a year and a half later to enroll in graduate school at the University of North Texas in Denton. While earning his Master of Education degree he also served as the assistant tennis coach.
For financial reasons, Tom left his first love of coaching tennis and joined the Western Company of North America training to be a service supervisor in hydraulic fracturing. When the bottom fell out of the oil market, he returned to Dallas and entered commercial real estate in 1984.
After 14 years as a successful commercial agent and broker, Tom realized he was never going to be happy working in a world of concrete and glass. He moved to Lucas, Texas with his wife Rhonda and their new son and began a new career as a residential Real Estate Agent.
Tom applied many of the lessons he learned from commercial real estate to residential and started as a “one man shop” with Rhonda working at his side. Against all odds, Tom started a string of 22 consecutive years as the #1 agent in sales volume within Fairview, Lucas, and Lovejoy ISD. In 2022 Tom was ranked #5 among all 13,000 active licensees within Collin County in sales volume.
After almost 40 years of real estate, Tom is still passionate about the business but has also become a pickleball enthusiast. He plays at least 5 times a week, serves as the pickleball ambassador for Allen, Texas, and enjoys coaching both tennis and pickleball as time permits. He lives in Lucas with Rhonda, his wife of 35 years, four dogs (all strays or rescues), two sugar gliders, and one feral cat we feed and provide shelter for.
