Did you grow up loving Lincoln Logs? Always dream of owning a log home? Now is your chance!! This is truly a unique find in Lovejoy ISD. Beautiful Blondy Jhune is an iconic Lucas country road with quintessential farm houses and gorgeous country estates, but you’d be hard pressed to find an authentic through-timber log built home anywhere else. This gorgeous and dramatic 2 acre creek lot provides views that will transport you from the metroplex to your cabin-in-the-woods retreat!
Entry to the home off a long front porch is the perfect place to transition to retreat mode before you enter through the wood and iron strap hinged door. From the entry, you see the stairs rise before you to the upper level. Three-inch-wide beams make the floating steps that are set in round post and beam support. The top rail is a true hand hewn round beam. The open riser area between the steps allows for sight across the home to a large picture window in the dining area, creating a sense of open air and connectedness with the outdoors.
To your right the great room is spacious and open with soaring vaulted ceilings clad in a tongue and groove bead board treatment. The through lumber creates wood walls on the perimeter of the home that have a truly authentic rustic feel. The walls and ceiling of the interior is white washed for a light and bright space. The random set stone firebox surround is perfectly in place with a timber mantel situated at an appropriately exaggerated height for the space. High above square recessed lighting and a centrally hung ceiling fan illuminate and increase air movement.
Continuing through the great room to the back of the stair, find yourself in a dining area. Open to the kitchen and breakfast bar the dining room is perfectly positioned beside a huge picture window with views overlooking the dramatic creek and wooded back yard. A chandelier hangs over the table area in front of the deep silled bay window.
The kitchen and pantry area are well outfitted to prepare and store great meals for a crowd! The cabinetry is solid wood furniture finish stain a light natural honey. The counters and backsplash are tiled for easy clean up. A peninsula creates a breakfast bar counter, which is extended with a deep countertop for knee space. Between the dining room and kitchen, a door leads out to the covered porch on the back of the home. On the opposite side of the kitchen behind the stairway a hall leads to a huge laundry, storage room, and continues to the front hall.
The master bedroom is at the far front corner of the home and is handsomely rustic with exposed natural wood beam walls. The room is generously proportioned with ample large windows for natural daylight. A large well shelved walk in closet with plenty of hanging room is accessed through a single wooden door. Toward the front face of the home a door from the master leads to the wet room. An adjacent commode and vanity area shares access with the front hall and is accessible from the common rooms.
Ascending the stairs, you find a reading nook, and a large flex space, a full bath, and two more bedrooms.
At the top of the stair is a deep landing to the back of the home. This is a roomy spot for a large comfy chair and shelves for your favorite books.
Follow the hall around the corner and a large area opens under the vaulted ceiling. This oversized hall would make a good study area, playroom, or tv room.
There are two more large bedrooms upstairs. Each of the bedrooms are unique in their finish out. Some of the details being large picture windows, built- in shelving nook, and lovely vaulted ceilings. The bedrooms each have natural light and generous closet space. A full bath is accessed for shared use off the end of the wide hall area.
The home is set off the street with a side entry U shaped drive. Across the drive from the home is a metal double door shop with interior space for 6 vehicles. The steel frame leaves the interior space wide open and doors on both ends allow for ventilation and access. The shop can easily accommodate boat or RV. A lift is at the far corner for additional seasonal parking or for ease of maintenance.
Traditional Log Home construction is unique and charming. Set deep on a heavily wooded creek lot, the home’s covered porches, front and back, give you the perfect vantage point to take in the natural surroundings. The large front yard, shaded with large native trees, has board on board fence for complete privacy. The back and side yards are overlooking a ravine and large rock formations in a wooded grove. Sit a while and enjoy nature’s beauty!
