First Week of School

I often talk about the wonderful ratings Lovejoy ISD earns every year from the Texas Education Agency (top three school district this year for all complete grade 1-12 districts).  There are a lot of forces working behind the scenes to make that possible, not the least of which is the awesome parent participation and interaction with the administration.  Some of it is also tradition.  Both can be seen in this recent first week update by our school superintendent, Ted Moore.

Senior Walk

The Senior Walk is an annual tradition for seniors at Lovejoy High School. The courtyard is lined with family members, students, and staff to welcome our seniors to their first day of their senior year. After entering the high school, the seniors are treated to a Senior Breakfast.  At the end of their senior year, senior students will take a final walk through the building and then exit through the courtyard surrounded by family members, students and staff.

 New Family Dinner

Each year, the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools hosts a new family dinner. This event is an opportunity for parents new to Lovejoy to get to know some long-time district volunteers, as well as other new Lovejoy families. School board members, the district administration team, campus administrators, and board members for the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools were on hand to welcome the newest members of the Lovejoy family this past Saturday evening.  It was a great night and we look forward to sharing other Lovejoy traditions with our new families. Special thanks to the Foundation for hosting this event.
