When Oakwood Estates was under construction, it immediately became the “go to” development in Fairview, Texas. I remember driving through even before the streets were cut in and knew then it was going to be an amazing subdivision. Since then we’ve sold many homes in Oakwood (24 as of August 2017) and I’ve always considered it a very special place.
I can’t count how many times buyers have contacted us and asked that we let them know whenever an Oakwood home came onto the market. They weren’t even interested in looking at other subdivisions.
Of course, there are much newer developments in Fairview featuring beautiful homes with all the new bells and whistles, but Oakwood still carries a certain cache and panache. It has big, mature trees, even a couple of hills, and small winding streets take you past some very special one acre estate homes.
Oakwood was developed in three stages. Phase one and two are south of the Parkdale bridge and phase three on the opposite side of the bridge was the last to be developed. Development started around 1994 with most homes being built by the early 2000s.
Well priced homes don’t last long in Oakwood Estates and the home values have steadily increased in value over the years. The development is located within the Lovejoy ISD, one of the finest little school districts in all of North Texas per the Texas Education Association. These homes are almost withing walking distance of 3 million SF of hotels, entertainment, restaurants, and shopping in both Allen and Fairview. Access to SH 75 and SH 121 is also minutes away.
