Things I found interesting on this table (provided to us by Hexter Fair
Title).
-
Only four areas showed an increase in
number of sales this year versus last (Anna, Oak Cliff, Prosper, and
Wylie). Those are highlighted in yellow.
-
In almost every subarea, the number
of home sales were down, but the
average sale prices were up.
And in some areas, quite significantly.
What this means is exactly what I (and many others) have been saying for
some time now. It is taking longer to sell a home in the Dallas area
(as evidenced by the average days on market column), but the sale prices are
not only holding, in most cases, they are actually increasing.
How many areas of the country do you think can match that?
This is because we already had a very affordable home buying market before
the economy started to slow. We don't see the huge home price
fluctuations like the east and west coast, nor are we hit
as badly when the economy stalls.
Now
is a GREAT time to buy a home!
