Town of Murphy Planning and Zoning Meeting Summary October 24th, 2005

Public Hearings
1. Hold a public hearing and consider and/or
act on the application of the City of Murphy to consider proposed amendments
to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance regarding concrete batch plants.
Staff is recommending to prohibit
permanent concrete batch plants and to continue regulating such issues by
means of city permits.
Consent Agenda
2. Consider/Act on the application of the
City of Murphy to consider proposed amendments to Section 47 of the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance regarding signs.
Discussion among committee members:
There are limited provisions for signage in Residential Areas. Provisions
should include to allow monuments for churches, HOA, Schools, and Model
Homes. Subdivisions signs should be limited to 30 square
feet and 2 per
entry.
