In a previous article I wrote on assisted living homes, I said an individual with the town of Lucas had told me "to their knowledge" they had never allowed an assisted living home within the Lucas city limits. I found out today from one of the "wired" Lucas residents there actually is one of these homes. In fact, that was the one I thought had been disallowed over the public outcry. I guess I should have stayed on top of it.
I was told the surrounding homeowners fought hard against the assisted living home, but it was still permitted by the city. You can form your own opinion of them, but if one of these homes were permitted in our neighborhood, I would sell our home immediately, move to Fairview, and then watch the town of Lucas explain to their citizens why these assisted living centers are such a great deal them.
