Rumored and True
I had been hearing rumors that with the explosive growth of Lovejoy ISD, new students entering the district who would normally be enrolled in Lovejoy Elementary School might be transferred to Hart Elementary School. So we checked it out by calling the administration buildings and it is true. These are both great schools, both carry the exemplary status rating with the Texas Education Association, and they are within 5 minutes of each other, so in my opinion it really is not that big a deal. Lovejoy Elementary is the older of the two schools, but it has the long tradition of excellence. However, Hart Elementary is only three years old and it has all the new "bells and whistles". You can't go wrong either way. Our next question was ... "What happens if parents are enrolling several children into the Lovejoy Elementary School side of the district for the first time and all of their kids are in different grade levels, some of which are at full capacity and others not? Will parents be required to split their kids into two different schools?" Be assured that the district has already addressed this issue and the parents will have options. Please call Lovejoy ISD at (972) 562-5075 and I'm sure they will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
