The Lovejoy ISD is currently in the preliminary design/development phase for the planning of the yet to be named Lovejoy Middle School. The middle school campus will be built on Country Club Road just north of Stacy Road. This middle school will be the first of two middle schools planned for the district and will open in the Fall of 2008 with a capacity of 850 students. Construction should begin on this project in early 2007. Within six months of the beginning of this project, the district will move forward with the construction of Elementary #3 for the LISD. This school will be built on the Hart and Stoddard Road site. These two construction projects will finish out the bond authorization approved by our voters in 2003. At the August 29 meeting, the LISD board approved the issuance and sale of the remainder of the bonds approved in 2003. The proceeds will bring slightly more than $28 million for the district to build these two remaining schools; the district received an upgrade in our bond rating by both Moody's and S&P which resulted in a favorable rate on the sale of these bonds at 4.6851%
