The Village At Fairview Welcomes The Container Store

The MGHerring Group is pleased to announce the addition of The Container Store, the leading national retailer of storage and organization products, and Barnes & Noble, the world’s largest bookseller, to the retail lineup at The Village at Fairview, in Fairview, Texas.

"The Village at Fairview will be THE most significant development in northeast Collin County. The quality of the retailers and restaurants, the variety of services, the size of the project, the design and atmosphere, and the location have combined to make The Village at Fairview the clear winner."
said David Deason, vice president of development for Barnes & Noble, Inc.

The 22,500-square-foot The Container Store and the 28,500-square-foot Barnes & Noble will join anchors Dillard’s and Macy’s in the 1,000,000 square-foot retail component of The Village at Fairview.

“We welcome The Container Store and Barnes & Noble to our project,” said Jim Kenny, Vice President of Leasing for The MGHerring Group. “Both are outstanding retailers and we thank them for their recognition of The Village at Fairview as the premier retail destination on the U.S. 75 corridor.”

The mixed-use development will begin construction in January and will open in the fall of 2008. The site is located north of Dallas in Fairview, Texas, at the northeast corner of Stacy Road and U.S. 75 in Collin County.

“It has been exciting to witness the expansion of our core customer base in Collin County over the last several years,” said Kip Tindell, CEO of The Container Store. “We are proud to be part of this dynamic project that, along with other national retailers, will offer our customers a one-stop shopping destination.” The Container Store’s location at The Village at Fairview will feature its innovative product mix expertly merchandised in a unique, lifestyle center environment.

Other plans for the retail component include an additional 100,000-square-foot department store, 500,000 square feet of specialty shops and restaurants and a 50,000-square-foot movie theater. In addition, The Village at Fairview will have 200,000 square feet of office space, 700 residential units, a 275-room hotel and 75,000-square-foot convention center, and 100,000 square feet of educational facilities.

"We have been evaluating several planned developments for the McKinney/Allen/Fairview area, and really wanted to make sure that we committed to the dominant regional opportunity," said David Deason, vice president of development for Barnes & Noble, Inc.
